In with the new...

I'm very fond of my first contemporary romance series. The kind of fondness reserved for old boyfriends with whom, once, you were very much in love. I loved my characters - Sam and Jonas, Lisbeth and Henri, Ella and Connor, and Magda and Vincenzo and think of them as old friends.

But I published Book 1 of the English Garden Romance series in 2019 (The Garden Plot) and have released one book every nine-eighteen months until the last book in the series, A Wilder Heart, in October 2023. What was in fashion in book covers then, isn't now.

Plus of course, when I started, I had only a vague idea of what I was doing, and managed everything on a shoestring budget.

The budget hasn't improved much, but thankfully, my knowledge has.

So these are two of the drafts for my new covers - and I say drafts because this is me, with DepositPhotos, a printer and a glue stick, cobbling them together. I will be taking the drafts to my last cover designer Jen for her to wave her magic wand and make them presentable. Then I'll be putting them on sale and also, for the first time, making a box set.

And for those of you wanting to hear again about Magda and Lisbeth and all the friends they made while on their journey, don't despair! They'll be making cameo appearances when I start my next contemporary series.
