My name is sara sartagne...
Having wanted to be a journalist when I was a teenager, I actually ended up on the dark side, in PR. From there, it was a short skip to writing for pleasure, and from there a slippery slope into touting for agents and generally wondering how anyone makes a living from being a writer.
I've chronicled my progress from the most hilarious romantic fiction course, to my first faltering steps of actually drafting something and finally, finally finishing it. Then of writing to endless agents, trying to get someone to represent me. It took twenty-plus agents for J.K. Rowling so I reckon I still have a few to go, yet.
In the almost certain expectation of failure in the traditional world of publishing, I've turned to the bewildering task of self-publishing. More courses, more people flogging me stuff - and here I am. I'm learning about landing pages, websites, mailing lists, some strange technical things to do with Amazon and Kindle, and struggling to get a professional-looking cover produced on no money.
All this is covered in my blog. And I thought writing the book would be the difficult thing!
